Solved Linetype Creation Issue Autodesk Community Having an issue where i try to create a novel line type to bring drafting standards for autocad p&ids in parallel with smartplant p&id line types. i'll go through my process and hopefully someone can point out a point of failure. Issue: while using the linetype command in autocad to create a custom linetype, the following error is displayed at the command line: invalid number or bad continuation.

Solved Linetype Creation Issue Autodesk Community Custom line types are not working, loading, or displaying as expected in autocad. linetypes might work on specific systems. linetypes might be displayed as solid linetypes or dots at the beginning and end. linetypes might be displayed correctly when creating an etransmit of the file. linetypes does not show text used. Hello, i am creating dwg files using autocad template and dwg styler. but when i opened the file in autocad i am not able to see the linetype, instead it shows solid line. but as soon as i execute command regenall the linetype is displayed correctly with linetype. When listed, the property is dashed for line type. i can change the property of the line using ddmodify. this happens to all layers no matter what linetype is designated in the layer properties manager. there must be some type of overide. any solutions? thanks in advance. You will need to delete your original x from the linetype and then "shape" command. you type the name of the shape and have to insert it where you want it in the linetype to actually have the shape there to make the linetype.

I have used the make linetype function and it just says that my line type is continuous and it's an invalid attempt. any help that any of you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated!. Solution: this problem can occur when the text style used by the linetype has been formatted in the text style dialog box. the linetype can take on the height and the oblique angle settings. use one of the following methods to resolve the problem. method 1 do not make changes to the text style specified in the lin file. method 2. I've been trying to make a custom linetype using the make linetype command under express tools, but i keep running into issues when i try to incorporate text in the line style. i can create shape lines with no issues, but for what ever reason text throws the dimensions and aspect ratios off. Solution: there are two options to create customized line type in autocad: create an own line type .lin file manually, then load it into autocad in the line type manager (see video create line type autocad | tips). create line type using express tools (refer to tutorial: create a custom simple line type).
