This is amazing! references are great, they make your art even prettier. i always find that my work looks more realistic when i use them. no worries, in time we'll be able to draw without them, but there's no shame to keep using them 😊great job! ️. I can usually draw from reference just fine and replicate gestures decently. but i'm noticing when i put the reference right next to the space i'm drawing, my results are more accurate in regards to proportion and the general shape of the drawing, as it's easier for me to compare. Use the references as guides, and if necessary find more take my own refs to fit my drawing. keep the references open throughout the whole process until the artwork is finished, using them to check that what you’re doing makes sense and looks correct rather than straight up copying anything. If you don't do gesture drawing & figure drawing, start. if you're comfortable figure drawing, then do one with a reference, then immediately do it again from memory. When drawing digitally from a reference image and you only have one screen; is it better to alt tab between the drawing program and the image or just layer the reference under your drawing?.
