Are tryhackme paths "complete beginner" and "cyber defense" good for getting some basic knowledge about cybersecurity? or is there better resources? i am mainly interested about blue team stuff.

Tryhackme Web Application Basics Cyber Security 101 Thm By Actually came here to post the same question. i'm planning on taking the oscp in either december or january, probably get 60 day lab time around october ish. but since quarantine, i've taken 3 full udemy classes (complete ethical hacking course by ermin kreponic, practical ethical hacking by heath adams, and jason dion's pentest course), and some random free rooms on tryhackme, and i've done. Are tryhackme course completions worth putting on a resume? is it worth putting it somewhere in linkedin once you're top x% of tryhackme? are certifications worth something? how does my entry level cyber security resume look? thm certificates there is no future in tryhackme hackthebox without certificates recognised by companies?. Has anyone started from the bottom on tryhackme and learned enough skills to get a job in the field? i have been on tryhackme for a while now and i'm starting to get comfortable and built real skills. so i'm just wondering what others have been able to do with skills learned on the site. I have used try to hack me for like 30 minutes and i have progressed less than 5% when i resume the course, they ask me to subscribe and if i don't it will not allow me to continue the course, has anyone encountered this problem and is there a way to continue.

Awesome place to start and to continually improve. people (ie: recruiters and other people of interest) do reference achievements on platforms such as tryhackme. would definitely recommend looking at other platforms for well roundedness. good luck!. A subreddit dedicated to hacking and hackers. constructive collaboration and learning about exploits, industry standards, grey and white hat hacking, new hardware and software hacking technology, sharing ideas and suggestions for small business and personal security. Tryhackme was good, but i had tons of it experience before hand so it was kind of basic (to me). hack the box on the other hand challenges me regularly and i can honestly said i've learned applicable things for it in general from hackthebox. i actually recommend htb to people just trying to up their it skillset in general. they have a good balance on instruction vs demonstration. just my. It's my opinion that bang per buck, tryhackme has no competition. the amount of money spent over at hackthebox, i could never begin to rationalize. to be clear, while subscriptions are important and the whole point is to get subscribing users, financially it's not the crutch that keeps either going. for the content, tryhackme has great value.
